This is a funny thing to say. Popular with older people. It literally means - We didn't die but we have seen this day! When something surprising happens that you didn't expect - good or bad - you can say this. Ölmədik, du günü də gördük!

In a Warner Brothers cartoon, a cat saw something unusual and then said "Now I've seen everything!" and then he pulled out a gun and shot himself.
After seeing a surprising thing we say:
"Will wonders never cease?"
"I never thought I'd live to see the day" [i.e. the day that this happens]
