Shopping for food - basic words

A new colleague has requested a video about names of foods. I've put together a simple video using a children's picture dictionary. One of these days I'll make a film in a real shop! But in the meantime, here's a selection of commonly purchased fruit, veg, and other food items.

Here is very basic vocabulary to get you by in shops. A chart that you can print as a cheat sheet is provided at the bottom of this post.

How much does it cost?/How much is it? = Bu neçəyədir?
Bu = this / neçəyə = how much / dir = it is
How much are the apples? = Alma neçəyədir?
What is this? = Bu nədir?
