-ən / -an = somebody who is / something that is doing something

I guess it is technically a participle, but knowing that doesn't help me learn to use it any quicker! In Azerbaijani you cannot say "the girl who is lauging" - instead you say "the laughing girl". It is easier to change the English phrase around in your head before translating it into Azerbaijani.

For example - the girl who is laughing = the laughing girl = gülən qız

the dentist who was taking out your tooth = your tooth taking out dentist = sizin dişinizi çıxardan diş həkimi
your brother who lives in America = your in America living brother = Amerikada yaşayan sizin qardaşınız
the short guy who drives the taxi = taki-driving short guy = taksini sürən qısa adam
the bus that you are taking to the gym = to the gym you taking bus = gimnastikaya sizi götürən avtobus
the tutor who is teaching you Azerbaijani = to you Azerbaijani teaching tutor = sizə Azərbaycan dilini öyrədən müəllim
the flight that is coming from Istanbul = from Istanbul coming flight = İstanbuldan gələn uçuş
the trainer who is helping you at the gym = at the gym to you helping trainer = gimnastikada sizə kömək edən məşqçi
the man who is playing kamancha = kamancha playing man = kamanchanı oynayan kişi
the dog that was hit by the car = car with being struck dog = avtomobil ilə zərbə endirən it
